The New Bedford High School teacher involved in last month's chair throwing incident has been cleared of any wrongdoing after Thursday's hearing.

Joanne Moura will not face any disciplinary actions and will continue teaching at the high school until she retires at the end of the year.

Teacher's union president Lou St. John was at the hearing and spoke to the media on behalf of Moura. He says administrators present were courteous to Moura and hope to improve current communication policies...

Supt Dr. Pia Durkin released a statement saying "we must work together to build a place for our children where learning is the number one priority."

Moura was attacked by a student last month when they threw a chair across her desk after she took away his cell phone. The student has since been expelled and faces criminal charges.
