New Bedford Forum Calls for ‘Real-World’ Education

Business leaders, educators, and students collaborated over ways to introduce real life skills into the classroom.
The 5th Annual Business Education Forum hosted by the Global Learning Charter Public School heard suggestions from business men and women, calling for more real-world skills to be taught alongside traditional “STEM” subjects. Global Learning Executive Director Stephen Furtado tells WBSM News he was glad to hear that.

Furtado says a plan will be drafted, and an effort will be made to integrate real-world situations into the school’s curriculum. The goal, he says, is to better prepare students for the workforce and higher education.
