UPDATED DEC. 30, 2014:  Four of five charges filed against Demitra Rae Pickering were dismissed on Dec. 12, 2014 in New Bedford District Court.  

On the fifth charge, conspiracy to violate drug laws, the charge was reduced to a civil offense.  Pickering was found "responsible" and paid a $100 fine.

The charges against her co-defendant, Devon Cuba, are still pending in New Bedford District Court.

New Bedford Police conducted a drug raid at an apartment on Hemlock Street Tuesday Night. Once inside the apartment, they found 20 grams of marijuana, more than $600 in cash and a 22-caliber semi-automatic handgun with the serial numbers defaced along with five rounds of ammunition for the gun.

Police arrested 21-year-old Devon Cuba and 20-year-old Demitra Rae Pickering, both of the Hemlock Street apartment.

They were charged with drug and weapons violations and were arraigned in New Bedford District Court.
