The workhorse of police departments throughout the nation has been the Ford Crown Victoria for many years.

Ford Motor Company discontinued production of the full-size sedans in 2011, and a New Bedford City Councilor is looking to resurrect the vehicle's production. Councilor Brian Gomes says the new Tauruses purchased for the New Bedford Police Department may be too small to handle the needs of the everyday patrol officer.

Gomes is looking to gain support from the State and Federal delegations, and fire a letter off to the Ford Motor Company, requesting they reboot the Crown Victoria model.
