A 25 year old New Bedford man was robbed Tuesday night in the north end while using the drive through ATM at the Santander branch at 2136 Acushnet Ave.. As the victim sat in his car at the ATM, the suspect approached him from behind with a small black firearm and demanded his cellphone. When the victim said he didn't have a phone, the suspect ordered him to drive away and as he did, he left his ATM card in the machine. When police returned to the scene, they found a withdrawal slip on the ground belonging to the victim's account but the card was no where to be found. An undisclosed amount of cash had been withdrawn. The victim who wasn't harmed in the incident, described the suspect as a thin, white male in his 20's with green or hazel eyes, and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black doo rag with a checkered scarf covering his face. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective William Suave at 508-991-6300 ext 130.
