The New Bedford Airport is looking for a new manager. After 2½ years current airport manager Tom Vick is leaving for a job in burlington with the F A A. He tells WBSM news he's recieved many offers before and turned them down. In a letter to the Mayor, Vick during his relatively his short tenure at the airport a lot was accomplished, including demonstrating the airport's impact on jobs and economic development, and completing an airport master plan. The airport manager position is listed on the city's website as well as in aviation publications, with a salary range of between 69 to 84 thousand dollars a year. A subcommittee will hire a new manager, and though there is no timeline for the appointment, ideally a new manager will come on prior to Vick's Departure on Aug. 16.
