Networking, Optimism Highlight Southcoast Business Expo

More than 100 area businesses showcased their services Wednesday during the annual Southcoast Business Expo at White's of Westport, sponsored by the Fall River and Greater New Bedford Area Chambers of Commerce.  Chamber executive Roy Nascimento tells WBSM News, 2012 has seen a slow recovery in the region.

Joe Vinagre of Hawthorne Florist and Gift Shop in Dartmouth didn't plan on selling many flowers on Wednesday, but he knew it was important to be at the Expo.  He and his wife purchased the business six years ago, and they survived the recession by developing their corporate accounts.

The Expo also featured a host of seminars on subjects like social media, protecting your business from cyber attacks, and workers comp 101.
