Linda Morad was sworn in as President of the New Bedford City Council on Monday but says that all her colleagues will be working together to set the council's agenda.

Morad told WBSM's Brian Thomas that she asked all of her collegues to submit their ideas regarding what issues they would like to see the city council address.

"Once I have that list together, which I asked them to please think about it and get back to me in about a week or so, I'm gonna compile that list and send the entire list out to all 11, and then we'll have some negotiations I'm sure and some discussions as to which two or three we want to move forward and promote," said Morad.

Morad also said she is not planning a run for mayor at this time.

"I said this in the last election, I'll say it again now, I work for St. Anne's Credit Union, I enjoy my position very well, I have family commitments that I've always had, and I'm happy being a New Bedford City Councilor," said Morad "that's what people elected me to do and for the next two years and that's what I'm going to do."

This is Morad's first stint as City Council President.
