Mayor Says City Is Safe, Following Arrests Of New Bombing Suspects
New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell is assuring residents that New Bedford is safe, following the arrests of two city men in connection with the Boston Marathon Bombings.
Both are charged with obstruction of justice. Authorities say the men removed a back pack from a UMass Dartmouth dorm room that contained evidence in the Marathon Bombings, in an effort to help suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev .
Mitchell commented on the arrests on his weekly program on WBSM.
The Mayor also expressed the hope that UMass Dartmouth would not be hurt by its unfortunate connection to the Marathon Bombings.
Mitchell says what happened at UMass-Dartmouth, could have happened at any college campus.
