Dogs are not allowed at the Sandy Terraces Campground on Cape Cod, nor is clothing.

Well, at least clothing is optional. Dogs? Not so much.

Recognized as a Top 10 Nudist RV Park in the United States by Cruise America, Sandy Terraces launched its 71st anniversary year in 2024.

Sandy Terraces, a family campground on Wakeby Road in Marstons Mills, Massachusetts, welcomes singles, couples and families. It accommodates tent and RV camping. The place offers nude bocci courts by the heated pool, among other things. Who could ask for more?

A member co-operative, Sandy Terraces welcomes day visitors and hosts "many fun activities" and "special family events."

There was a second nudist campground in Massachusetts until recently.

The Berkshire Vista Nudist Resort on Kittle Road in Hancock, Massachusetts, closed in October 2022, a year after a co-owner died.

Woodall's Campground Magazine says, "The Berkshire County, Massachusetts' nudist campground has sold to a Quebec-based company with plans for a more upscale experience, starting with platform tents imported from France and tiny houses, according to the Berkshire Eagle."

Neither publication mentions whether Berkshire Vista will remain a nudist resort.

While there are nude beaches, such as Herring Cove in Provincetown and Longnook Beach in Truro, and naturist groups and clubs in the area, Sanday Terraces appears to be the only nudist campground in Massachusetts.

The campground offers WiFi service to its visitors and guests. But if you are not wearing pants, finding a place to put your cell phone might be challenging.

There's a Nudist Campground in Rhode Island Waiting for You, Too

When you really want to get back to nature, there's a place for that in Foster, Rhode Island. If you're into that sort of thing, you can explore Dyer Woods Nudist Campground, where the hiking, swimming and volleyball playing are all done in the buff.
It's actually a beautiful campground with great hiking spots as you can see from the photos below.

LOOK: See America's 50 Best Beach Towns

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
