Massachusetts Foreclosures Drop To Lowest Level Since February 2011

A new report by the Warren Group shows that foreclosures in August dropped to their lowest level in more than a year.  The report says 566 foreclosures were completed statewide in August, the lowest number since February, 2011 when 521 foreclosures were completed.  August marks the third consecutive month that foreclosures have dropped versus the same month one-year ago.

However, the report also shows that foreclosures this year are still well ahead of last year's numbers.  So far this year, nearly six-thousand foreclosures have been completed, an eight-point-four-percent increase over the same period a year ago.
