NEW BEDFORD — A man from Florida is arrested after a physical altercation in New Bedford.

New Bedford Police responded to a report of an injured male in a residence at 21 Page Street at 8:55 p.m. on Monday.

During the investigation, police learned that two males who were known to each other had been arguing. During the argument, a physical struggle broke out with one of the men injuring the other man with a necklace he had been wearing.

The victim was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford with non life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested the alleged assailant, Travis Lee Griffin, 34, with a listed address of 1640 Illinois Road, Clearwater, Florida. Griffin is charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Griffin's Facebook profile lists him as working for a fishing company in Fairhaven.
