Mass. Congressman and candidate for U-S Senate Stephen Lynch is siding with fishermen in their ongoing conflict with the fishing regulators at NOAA.

Speaking Thursday on WBSM, Democrat Lynch called on NOAA to make a real effort to improve the science they use to set catch limits.

Lynch says the government should not be afraid to contract with outside sources for data.

He adds, the government must do a better job of managing the fishing crisis, so fishermen can still remain in business.

Lynch and Congressman Edward Markey are seeking the Democratic nomination for U-S Senate.  The primary election is April 30.
