The two individuals arrested on animal cruelty charges in New Bedford this week have been arraigned.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office asked the judge to set bail at $5,000 each for 23-year-old Sabrina Harding and 24-year-old Jake Brousseau. The judge set Harding's bail at $500. She was ordered to have no contact with animals, and to check in with a probation officer once a week. Brousseau's bail was set at $1,000, and was also ordered to not come into contact with animals.

Harding and Brousseau will appear in court for pre-trial hearings July 13 and 14, respectively.

The couple was arrested Wednesday after police discovered 46 animals in their South Second Street apartment, half of them dead. A property in Tiverton housing additional animals is also being investigated in relation to the case.
