The tight-knit community of Falmouth is rallying around Rich Manillo after his wife, Lee Manillo, 41, died giving birth to twins on May 8.

Mrs. Manillo of Pocasset died from complications following the birth of her twin sons, Van and Nicholas. Her death leaves her husband Rich as the sole caregiver for the couples' newborn children.

In the wake of this tragic event, a YouCaring fundraiser page was set up to help Rich and the twins. To date, 744 supporters comprised of family, friends and even total strangers have donated $88,147. Organizers hope to raise a total of $150,000 for the family.

Those who knew Mrs. Mannillo held her in high regard. Laura Minier calls her a "smart, bright and kind woman" and Scott Gladish describes her as "caring and giving."

Mrs. Mannillo worked for 12 years as an environmental coordinator at the Barnstable County Department of Health and Environment prior to her untimely death.

The twins are said to be doing well.
