John Kerry Says George McGovern Was Right

U.S. Senator John Kerry says former senator and presidential candidate George McGovern was, quote, "a voice of clarity and conviction at a time when America needed it most."  The 90-year-old McGovern died yesterday in South Dakota, and Kerry paid tribute to the former senator in a statement.

Kerry said McGovern cared about issues such as hunger, poverty and peace no matter how they helped or hindered him politically.  The Massachusetts senator says, quote, "George McGovern may not have been president, but George McGovern was right."
