Weekly Jobless Claims Down

First-time claims for unemployment benefits are down sharply.  This morning's report from the Labor Department shows 300-thousand Americans filed for benefits last week.

That's 26-thousand fewer than the week before.  The biggest increases in claims were in Michigan, California, Kansas, Missouri and Pennsylvania.

The deepest declines were in Wisconsin, New York, Minnesota, Florida and Tennessee.
