The United Way's Youth Day of Caring saw more than 100 high school students performing community service work at ten sites throughout the region.

The largest group, about 50, were assigned to the Dartmouth YMCA's "Share the Harvest" Farm on Gulf Road.  They spend several hours building a stone wall, installing irrigation hoses, and doing general clean-up work.

New Bedford High sophomore and Junior R-O-T-C member Elizabeth Bonilla-Lopez was working in the garden....

The United Way's Victoria Grasela tells WBSM News, the Youth Day of Caring is helping to build a new generation of volunteers.
