The other day I was putting groceries away, when I went into the cabinet where we kept the cereal I couldn't believe what I saw.

I don't eat much cereal so I never go into that cabinet, when I opened up I saw at least 20 open boxes of cereal! 20 boxes half full or close to full. I asked the kids what was up with that? They each blamed each other, which is what I expected. I was a kid once I remember leaving just a little bit of ice cream in the tub so I wouldn't have to throw it away, this used to drive my father crazy!

After finding the cereal I started looking around the kitchen to see what else was almost empty, I found a bag of chips that contained crumbs, there was a bag of corn chips that contained three chips, in the freezer I found a box of frost bitten Toaster Strudel and so on.

I guess things haven't changed since I was a kid, they still have an aversion to throwing things away or putting dishes in the dishwasher. We did get the cabinets cleaned out yesterday and I want to thank those of you who sent me some recipes on what to do with the cereal. Now I have to start poking around their bedroom, then again maybe not, I'm afraid of what leftover food I might find.
