Mass. State Tresurer Steve Grossman says he's willing to debate House Speaker John Boehner on legislation that would allow states to collect sales tax on items purchases  thru the internet.

Such a bill passed the U.S. Senate this week, but Speaker Boehner said he doubted he would support the measure, meaning it will likely go nowhere in the House.

Grossman, speaking on WBSM's Mid-Day Live, said taxing items sold through the internet is a matter of fairness.....

Grossman says collecting sales taxes on items sold through the Internet would generate millions of dollars for the Commonwealth.

The Treasurer says he doesn't know whether the Speaker will accept his offer to debate, but if he does, a Sunday morning talk show would be a great place to do it.
