Three students have been ordered to stay away from the campus of Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School after an apparent hit list was discovered.

The Superintendent's Office says the names of eight students were listed on a piece of notebook paper under the heading "People I'm Killing."

The list was posted to a social media site, then forwarded to school officials who notified New Bedford Police.

The three students, and alleged authors of the list, were questioned by police and told to stay away from the school until they are called in by their principals for a disciplinary hearing and an investigation is completed which will determine if it is safe to have them return.

The eight students on the list were also notified and a call went out to all students and staff around 9 p.m. Thursday.

School officials say that while they don't consider it a credible threat they are treating it very seriously.
