Members of Freetown Firefighters Local 3213 have begun a fund-raising campaign to help a firefighter who recently suffered a stroke.

Union members say firefighter Jeff Brum suffered a serious stroke in early September, and while the prognosis is good, he's facing a long recovery.

The union has begun selling tee-shirts to help Brum's family with expenses.  Lt. Paul Ashley says "we're just trying to raise as much as we can. We're still kind of in our infancy here are far as what his long-term diagnosis will be so we're just trying to raise some money to help his family with expenses."

Lt. Ashley says the shirts include the Freetown Fire Department logo, and a red ribbon symbolic of stroke awareness on the front, and the words "Brum Strong" on the back. The shirts are being sold for $20 at the St. Bernard's Church Harvest Festival this weekend, and are available at Station Three on Bullock Road.
