NEW BEDFORD — Members of the New Bedford police narcotics and gang units arrested four people and took heroin, fentanyl, marijuana and oxycodone off the street Wednesday after executing three separate search warrants.

Police executed a search warrant at 16 Roosevelt Street, third floor, at about 8 p.m. as part of an investigation into a heroin distribution service out of that address. Police seized 71 grams of heroin, a digital scale, packaging materials and $203 in cash. They arrested Joshua A. Perry, 24, of 16 Roosevelt St. Apt. 3, New Bedford, who was the target of the investigation, on charges of trafficking in heroin over 36 grams, conspiracy to violate drug laws and on a warrant arrest.

Police also executed a search warrant at 143 Clifford Street, Apt. 1E, at about 9 p.m. as part of an investigation into a heroin delivery service. Police seized 39.2 grams of fentanyl, four suboxone strips, packaging materials, digital scales and $4,777 in cash. Arrested was Noel A. Lopez, 27, of 158 Crapo St. Apt. 3, New Bedford, on charges of trafficking in over 10 grams of fentanyl, possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute, possession of Suboxone with intent to distribute as well as a motor vehicle charge.

Police executed a third search warrant at 46 Cedar Street at about 10:45 p.m. as part of an investigation into a fentanyl delivery service out of that address. The targets of the investigation were Jean Pluviose, 28, of 46 Cedar St., and Endia Baptiste, 29, of 46 Cedar St. The address is across the street from Magnet Park. After a subsequent search of a motor vehicle and residence, police seized 41 grams of fentanyl, one pound of marijuana, 25 oxycodone tablets and $432 in cash.

Baptiste was charged with trafficking in fentanyl over 36 grams, trafficking in fentanyl within 100 feet of a park (Magnet Park); possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute; possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute within 100 feet of a park (Magnet Park); possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 100 feet of a park (Magnet Park) and conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws.

Pluviose was charged with trafficking in fentanyl over 36 grams, trafficking in fentanyl within 100 feet of a park (Magnet Park); possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute; possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute within 100 feet of a park (Magnet Park); possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 100 feet of a park (Magnet Park); conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws and possession of class B substance with intent to distribute, subsequent offense (he was convicted of possession of class B substance with intent to distribute in 2012).

He has a lengthy record, and was sentenced in 2008 to serve 18 months in the House of Correction on a firearm charge. He was also sentenced in 2011 to serve five years in state prison on a separate firearm charge.
