Foreclosure Workshop In New Bedford
August 29, 2012 1:55 AM A state office that deals with consumer issues is hoping to prevent more foreclosures on the Southcoast.
The Whaler Banquet and Conference Center on Hathaway Road is the site of a Foreclosure Workshop on Wednesday, sponsored by the Mass. Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation. Deputy Direrctor Diane Lawton tells WBSM News, similar workshops have been held around the state since 2008.

The conference runs Wednesday from 2pm to 8pm. A half dozen lenders will take part, including Bank of America, Citibank, JP Morgan Chase, Homeward Residential, GMAC and Wells Fargo. Homeowners need to bring appropriate information, like two recent bank statements and your monthly mortgage statements. Local housing counselors will also be on hand.
