Two firefighters were injured after a fire tore through an Attleboro home Monday morning.

The fire caused heavy damage to the second floor of the East Bacon St. home where much of the roof collapsed.

Three people living in the home were able to make it out safely.

Fire officials tell ABC 6 a cigarette is most likely what caused the fire after one of the home's residents admitted to improperly extinguishing it.

The injuries suffered by the firefighters are considered minor and the incident remains under investigation.
