FALL RIVER (WBSM) — An 18-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds in an afternoon incident Saturday in Fall River.

According to Fall River Police, officers responded at about 12:20 p.m. to a report of a male that had been shot in the area of the 200-block of Locus Street.

Officers arrived to find the 18-year-old male suffering from “multiple gunshot wounds to his upper extremities,” police said.

Police did not release the victim’s identity or give any information on his current medical condition, but instead directed all further questions to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Fall River Police and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the D.A.’s Office are investigating the incident. The Fall River Police Department also “has activated additional units as part of a post-incident impact team to increase our presence in areas affected by this incident,” police said.
