FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A Fall River man was arrested after police said he fired a gun in a neighborhood early Saturday morning.

According to Fall River Police, officers responded to a report of shots fired at about 3 a.m. in the area of Cambridge Street and Mott Street. They learned that a white male had been seen walking east on Cambridge Street, holding what appeared to be a firearm.

The man was located on the 400-block of Coggeshall Street, and police said that a search of the area where he was located turned up a Polymer80 9mm pistol with a large capacity magazine.

Police said the Crime Scene Unit also discovered multiple 9mm shell casings located in the area of the shots fired report.

Police arrested Bryan Olmo Colon, 23, and charged him with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large capacity firearm, and possession of a large capacity feeding device.
