FALL RIVER (WBSM) — One person is in custody following reports of shots fired on Pine Street early this afternoon.

The Fall River Police Department received several calls just before 1 p.m. reporting shots fired in and around the area of Pine Street.

Police say that witnesses provided a description of the vehicle believed to be responsible for all the reported shots fired. Officers then located that vehicle at a residence on Summerfield Street.

The suspect's name has not been released at this time. The Major Crimes Division is handling the investigation.

"Kudos to our exceptional officers for their swift action and bravery in capturing today's armed suspect," said Chief of Police Paul Gauvin. "I also commend the citizens of Fall River for being great partners and providing accurate information. I am certainly proud of my team today."
