The Paul Revere Bell tour could be coming to a parade near you.

At Monday night's Board of Selectmen meeting, the Fairhaven Bell Committee was approved to build a cradle for the 2-century-old bell, allowing it to safely appear in town events, like parades, until it gets a permanent home.

Since the bell was removed from the Oxford school in 2015, it's remained in storage.

Bell Committee member Nils Isaksen said a lot of people have asked about the bell and when they could possibly see it again.

With the bell needing restoration work and other regular maintenance, Isaksen hopes the bell appearances could help raise funding, along with awareness.

The Bell Committee was also approved to build a website to spread information on the Paul Revere Bell.

The bell's cradle will be built by New Bedford Regional Voc-Tech students. Officials hope the cradle will be ready for Fairhaven's Memorial Day parade.
