Fairhaven Teen Struck By Car

Fairhaven Police say a Hastings Middle School student was struck by a car Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Adams Sreet and Massasoit Avenue.

Police Sgt. Kevin Kobza says the 13 year old male student was struck just before 3pm by a Toyota Highlander driven by a 19 year old Fairhaven man. The victim was treated at the scene and then transported to the Fairhaven High School football stadium, where he was med-flighted to Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence.

Firefighter Wayne Oliveira described the victim's injuries as serious but not life-threatening. Police say the accident remains under investigation, but right now, there are no charges pending.
