The Environmental Protection Administration is moving ahead with construction of a containment area or cad cell just 200 yards off the shoreline of Fairhaven.

The cad cell will hold contaminated sediment from the harbor, including PCB's.

During a meeting last night in Fairhaven, E-P-A officials defended the project, even while admitting the location may have been a mistake.

The E-P-A's Kelsey O'Neil says officials will keep a close watch on the cad cell, even after its finished....

About 30 residents turned out for the meeting. The EPA will return to the Fairhaven Town Hall next month for a public hearing on the project.
