Fairhaven Fire Dept. Raising Funds To Equip Rescue Boat

The Fairhaven Fire Department has acquired a 25 foot Defender class rescue boat from the U.S. Coast Guard.  Now firefighters are looking to raise some money to purchase motors and other equipment.

Firefighter Wayne Oliveira tells WBSM  News, the department has always been involved in water rescue operations....

Oliveira says the Fire Department is hoping to raise up to $80,000, and has already begun a sponsorship and donation program.
