You may spot some helicopters in the air later this week, but don't be alarmed.

It will likely be choppers conducting aerial inspections of high voltage electrical equipment for Eversource, formally NSTAR.

The inspections will begin this week, starting in the Walpole-Burlington area, then move to the South Shore and then Cape Cod and the Southcoast by the end of the week.

The helicopters are equipped with heat-sensing infrared equipment designed to detect problems with high-voltage lines.

The inspections will be carried out between 7am and 5pm in a white, Jet Ranger helicopter with a blue stripe and registration number 37WA.
