The Environmental Protection Agency is giving the go ahead to the city of New Bedford to re-mediate 3 properties in the area near the Keith Middle School.

The city's consultant ,TRC Environmental,  proposed the remedial action which needed the EPA and State DEP approval. Michele Paul, New Bedford's Director of Environmental Stewardship, tells WBSM News the EPA has approved the consultants plan for remediation.

The properties include 101 and 102 Greenwood Street and 118 Ruggles Street. Paul adds the sites will be dug up and then capped. The weather will determine when the remediation will begin.
