Rehoboth, Easton, Dighton, and Mansfield are the latest Bristol County communities where EEE positive mosquitoes have been found. The Bristol County Mosquito Control Project trapped the eight infected mosquitoes within the past week.

Control Project Superintendent Jennifer Dacey tells WBSM's Mid-Day live the symptoms of EEE can start out just like a cold or flu.

Dacey says crews have been regularly spraying in and around the Hockomock Swamp where the EEE positive mosquitoes have been found.

An elderly Norfolk County woman passed away earlier this week from the virus. Dacey says she is the only confirmed human case in the state.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health says New Bedford is at a moderate risk level for EEE and West Nile Virus infections.
