Dow Climbs Over 17,000 For First Time In History
The Dow Jones Industrial Average is above the 17-thousand mark at the end of trading on Wall Street for the first time in history.
The Dow hit the milestone right after the opening bell today following the release of a strong June jobs report. It showed nearly 290-thousand jobs were added in June and that the national unemployment rate had fallen to six-point-one percent.
The Dow gained 92 points to end at 17-069.
