Salvati’s Delicatessen at 925 Purchase St. sold only top shelf items from 1914, when Gioacchio Salvati opened until 1971, when his son, Sal Salvati, closed the famous deli that welcomed customers with delicious aromas from the moment you entered Salvati’s Deli, a highly regarded downtown New Bedford memory!
