There will be no more free parking on Morton Avenue and Ledgewood Boulevard in Dartmouth for UMass Dartmouth students looking to sidestep the university's parking fees and aggressive ticketing policies. The Dartmouth Select board voted Monday night to allow the Department of Public Works to post signs on both sides of Morton Ave and Ledgewood Blvd in response to a rash of residents' complaints.

The signs will ban parking on both sides of the roads from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and allow police, at their discretion, to tow violators. The town will pay for the signs.
