Dartmouth Break-In Leads to New Bedford Man’s Arrest
Dartmouth Police have arrested a New Bedford man they say broke into a woman's home in the town.
The 60-year-old female victim called police around 9am Tuesday morning, reporting a young, dark-skinned male had broken into her home, pushed her to the floor, and rifled through her belongings.
About ten minutes later, a man matching the description given to police walked by a nearby police detail and ran off after the officer tried to question him. Police were able to catch up with and arrest 21-year-old Javon Carter of New Bedford.
Carter was brought to New Bedford District Court where he faces charges of home invasion, intimidation of a witness, and kidnapping charges.
The victim was not hurt during the break-in.
