C’s Take Croatian Center With Final First Round Pick
With their third and final first round selection in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft, the Celtics once again looked overseas and found another international big man they deemed worthy enough of the pick.
This time the C's took Croatian center Ante Zizic with the 23rd overall pick.
There is some thought that the 19-year-old might not be a draft-and-stash player like most international targets end up being. According to a CSNNE.com report, the 6-foot-11 center's goal is to head directly to the NBA.
The report also notes Zizic's hard working mentality and constant motor on both ends of the court.
While he projects to add some much needed protection at the rim, it appears he could still work on his perimeter guarding abilities.
Zizic will also look to add old-school like big man skills on the offensive end, though his effectiveness from the free throw line may allow for an outside shot to develop.
