WAREHAM — Two people have been arrested in connection to several jewelry store thefts in Wareham over the past several weeks.

Wareham Police say the break-ins occurred on Wednesday, October 24, at Aaron Marks Jewelers, Monday, October 29, at Gold World, and Thursday, November 1, at Aaron Marks Jewelers. In the thefts, police say the suspect(s) smashed their way into the building, busted up jewelry cases, and stole thousands of dollars of merchandise before fleeing.

Wareham Police detectives were able to identify two suspects on November 1 as the result of an intensive investigation. Members of the Bourne Police Department and the Barnstable County Sherriff's Office assisted in the identification of the suspects as they were investigating a similar crime in Bourne.

On Thursday, November 1, one of the suspects in the jewelry thefts, Erin Pardi, 21, of Wareham, was involved in a minor car accident in New Bedford. Pardi was arrested on an unrelated warrant following the crash.

Wareham Police detectives learned of Pardi's arrest. Pardi was transported to Wareham. The car she was driving was also seized and transported to the Wareham Police Department, where police searched the vehicle on a warrant they had obtained.

In the vehicle, police found several pieces that had been reported stolen. Pardi was charged with receiving stolen property over $1,200.

At the time of Pardi's arrest, police were still on the lookout for the second suspect in the jewelry thefts, Anthony Vieira, 24, of no certain address.

On Sunday, November 4, Wareham Police pulled over a vehicle on Marion Road near Cromesett Road at about 6 a.m. A passenger in the vehicle reportedly jumped out of the car and fled on foot into a nearby bog area. Police began pursuit of the man, with multiple residents reporting seeing a man run through their backyards. The man was soon seen by police crossing a marsh near the Woods at Wareham complex. The man, Anthony Vieira, was taken into custody by police.

Vieira is being held on $5,000 cash bail. He will be arraigned on Monday in Wareham District Court on charges of breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony (three counts), larceny from a building (three counts), and receiving stolen property over $1,200 (three counts).

Police say they expect more charges to be filed against Pardi.
