On Tuesday, the players and owners met for almost 10 hours. Those meetings might have paid off, and the two sides have exchanged proposals, possibly ending the NHL lockout.

A source tells ESPN that while the two sides could soon be in agreement, things are still very delicate. NHL commissioner Gery Bettman said that he is 'pleased with the process', but things are still moving slow. They are hoping these meetings have saved the season.
