Could Mass. See Another Big Earthquake Like the one in 1755 on Cape Ann?

A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Cape Ann, off our MA coast, in 1755. Not even the 5.8 quake that struck Virginia in 2011 surpassed it.

With the ancient Ramapo Fault running near New York City, the Northeast still faces a high risk of an earthquake damaging our homes!
