There will be some contested races in Wareham when the town holds elections on Tuesday.

Incumbent Selectman Patrick Tropeano is seeking another term.

However, the Wareham Week says his re-election bid won't go unchallenged.

He is facing competition from Wareham Veterans Council member and a business owner, John Ferranti; Anthony Scarsciotti who served ten years as a Town Meeting teller and eight years on the Planning Board; and Michael Frates who's making his third run for a seat.

Town Clerk Mary Ann Silva also faces a challenge from former Town Clerk employee Loren Franklin.

Incumbent School Committee Member Rhonda Veugen faces a challenge from Mary Morgan and Incumbent Marilyn Jordan faces a challenge from Peter Dunlop for a seat on the Board of Sewer Commissioners.

Town Moderator Claire Smith and Roxanne Barboza, who is seeking another term on the Board of Assessors, are both running unopossed.

Polls in Wareham are open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
