Wareham Police discover a stash of cocaine and heroin during a drug bust in the town.

Wareham Police Chief Kevin Walsh says the department was conducting a drug investigation when detectives acted on received information Wednesday afternoon and attempted to stop a Ford Expedition driven by 26-year-old Nicholas Gregory of Wareham. Gregory attempted to elude several officers while traveling at high speeds in thickly settled areas, but finally came to a stop on Indian Neck Road.

A search of the vehicle revealed heroin residue. A headset case that had been thrown from the vehicle was also recovered. The case contained about 50 grams of powder and crack cocaine. Gregory was in possession of $630 in cash at the time.

Gregory was arrested and has been arraigned in Wareham District Court on charges of trafficking cocaine, possession of a class a substance, and multiple motor vehicle violations.
