City Man Charged With Armed Robbery

An 18 year old New Bedford man is charged with robbing a second hand store Wednesday night, and getting away with a pair of sneakers. 

According to Det. Lt. John Chaves, Edwin Rosado  entered the store at 1857 Acushnet Avenue, and asked an employee for $10. 

When the employee refused, police say Rosado pulled out a pocket knife, grabbed a pair of sneakers and then fled. 

Police who were patrolling the area spotted the suspect and caught him.  The knife was found in his waistband.  Rosado faces a charge of armed robbery.
