Watch your head next time you enter New Bedford City Hall. Scaffolding has been set up around the entrance to the 158-year-old building, as city workers begin to clean and restore the brownstone exterior.

On Wednesday, workers removed the header above the main door, and Mayor Jon Mitchell is pleased with the results thus far.

Mitchell says workers are detailing the building, and restoring parts of the brownstone facade that may have sustained some damage in recent years.

Mitchell says the work should take up to three months to complete.
