The New Bedford City Council is once again asking Mayor Jon Mitchell about his intentions on a waterfront casino.

During Thursday's meeting, councilors filed a motion asking for more transparency in the negotiation process between the City and KG Urban developers.

Ward 2 Councilor Steve Martins and other councilors will meet with Mitchell Friday to get some answers.

Councilors accused Mitchell of already making up his mind not to allow a casino to be built in the city and favoring the New Bedford Marine South Terminal project.

The potential $500 millioncasino would provide roughly 12,000 jobs to local residents. KG would also conduct a $50 million clean up of the NSTAR site, which is one of the most contaminated sites in the city.
