The NBA's regular season is quickly coming to an end and the Boston Celtics, who once looked like the darlings of the Eastern Conference, are sputtering into the playoffs.

With just seven regular season games left on the schedule, Boston has fallen from third place all the way to the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

The C's currently find themselves a half game behind both the Miami Heat and Charlotte Hornets, who sit in fourth and fifth place in the conference standings respectively.

With a match up against the league leading Golden State Warriors, who are on their way to possibly setting the single season record for wins in a regular season, set for tonight, it looks like the C's are in danger of dropping their third straight game.

They'll need to get things back on track soon though, as three of their final seven games come against the three teams that sit directly on top of them in the Eastern Conference; the Atlanta Hawks, Miami and Charlotte.

Those three games could end up determining whether the C's welcome a lower seeded team into the Garden to kick off the first round of the playoffs or if they'll have to travel to play one of the conference's top teams.

It's now or never for Boston to prove that they are legitimate contenders this year.
