Baker Hoping For Help From The Feds

Gov. Charlie Baker says he's been reaching out to federal officials as Massachusetts prepares to make a formal request for disaster relief following the spate of recent snowstorms.

Baker said Massachusetts has struggled with snow removal costs, coastal damage, a business slowdown, and nearly 150 structures with collapsed roofs due to the storms that dumped more than seven feet of snow across the state

Brockton Casino Deal Advances

Brockton Mayor Bill Carpenter has announced an agreement with Mass. Gaming and Entertainment to allow construction of a casino on the Brockton Fairgrounds, owned by businessman George Carney.

The Enterprise is reporting that the host agreement calls for Brockton to receive at least $10 million dollars annually, along with a host of other benefits
